1. FLC REGISTRATION CLOSES FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5

FLC registration closes tomorrow (Friday, 10/5), and I will deliver hotel reservations and credit card authorization forms to the Hyatt on 10/10.

Attendee Registration: Click Here

Registration Checklist: Click Here

Students need to be registered/submitted as DECA Members for you to be able to register them for FLC.

2. MEMBERSHIP PROCESS - HEADS UP

Just a “heads up” if you haven’t started registering members yet. The system is different this year, which makes it a little challenging.

Give yourself extra time to work through the process. I’m happy to help.

3. FLC COMPETITIVE EVENTS WORKSHOPS, ROUNDTABLE SESSIONS, AND BUSINESS PITCH COMPETITION

FLC is offering Competitive Events Workshops!! Get you and your students ready for the new competitive event year by attending these sessions:

Integrated Marketing Campaigns

Written Events

Role plays 101

SBE (multiple workshops)

Creative Marketing

Project management and your chapter project

Hospitality Tourism Professional Selling

FLC has roundtable sessions on School Based Enterprise, College Speed Dating, Chapter Leadership, Fundraising, Networking, and a brand new Hear from an Expert Mentor Roundtable!!

Have your students started thinking about their pitch idea for the Business Pitch Competition? Who will take home that grand prize?!?

4. FLC CHAPTER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY REGISTRATION

Keep in mind that there is a flat fee of $20 (total) to send up to 6 students to CLA sessions.

Register one student for CLA, and your chapter will be charged the $20 fee.

When you get onsite, you’ll receive 6 tickets (2 per CLA session) that you can distribute to the students who will attend the sessions.

You’re not required to use all 6 tickets, if you don’t have 6 students who want to attend a CLA session.

Each of the 3 CLA sessions has a different focus: 1) Mission-Based Leadership in DECA; 2) Networking Your Way Up; and 3) Fund-Raise That Cash Money

If you’ve already registered multiple students for CLA, you have multiple $20 fees. Simply go in and delete the event from all but one student. - Click on the Finish Registration button again, and you’ll receive a corrected invoice via email.

5. FORM B REMINDER

If you haven’t done this yet, please initiate your Form B via DocuSign. Click Here.

FLC registration is blocked to chapters without a submitted Form B.

13 advisors have initiated their Form B, but the principal and/or CTE director hasn’t DocuSigned it yet. I will reach out to those administrators and copy the advisor.

We need a completed Form B from every advisor—not just one per chapter.

Thank you!

6. FLC HOTEL CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION REMINDER

I’ll deliver the Hotel Credit Card Authorization forms to the Hyatt next Wednesday. Please remember to submit those to me.

If your school or district can’t pay for housing with a credit card, please contact me. We have a plan.

7. PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS EVENT

Join other DECA and FBLA chapters from Oregon and Washington at this year's Sports Business Days events! A portion of each ticket purchased will go back to support OECA or FBLA.
