7. FORM B – STATEMENT OF ASSURANCE AND ADVISOR RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Form B Statement of Assurance and Advisor Rules and Responsibilities form is an important annual form that must be completed by every advisor in Washington. It is to be signed by the advisor, their principal, and their CTE director.

- Deadline. This is due one time per year, and this year’s deadline is September 28. Important Note: If not every advisor from a chapter has completed a Form B prior to when any conference registration opens, that chapter will be blocked from registering until the forms are completed and received by WA DECA. It’s that important!

- Form B. Attached is a copy of the form for your review.

- DocuSign. To make this process as quick and easy as possible, Form B is set up as a DocuSign form that you will initiate. It’s then routed from you to the principal, to the CTE director, and back to me at WA DECA via email.

Click here to initiate Form B.

Click here for DocuSign instructions (this is geared toward you, the initiator).

Click here for a tutorial on signing a document with DocuSign (this would be appropriate to share with your principal and CTE director).

Be sure to let your principal and CTE director know this is coming. Although you will initiate it, I created it, so it appears to come from Nancy Hanlon.

8. INTERNATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE (ICDC)

There are a couple of updates already for ICDC that we think are exciting.

- ICDC Hotel. We are happy to announce that our ICDC Hotel is the beautiful Hyatt Regency Orlando right by the Orange County Convention Center! Washington might even have the hotel all to ourselves.

- ICDC Tours. This year, DECA plans to post the ICDC activities/tours on October 1. This should help chapters plan ahead and set fundraising goals.

9. MDA MUSCLE WALK

This year’s MDA Muscle Walk is on September 15 at Jefferson Park in Seattle. Here is the link to sign up now! MDA works hard to support local individuals and the families who love them to live longer and grow stronger, provide grants to researchers that find life changing treatments and cures, and access to resources and the tools to thrive. The money and awareness raised through the MDA Muscle Walk program is what makes this event the most impactful. You are invited to join the MDA community in celebrating life, challenge, and love! Fight back to make a difference in the lives of those who inspire us.

Thanks powering through this information! Wishing you all the best as you get your DECA year started.
