1. ELIZA WEBB ON MATERNITY LEAVE
Sienna Ann Webb decided to come early, after all! She was born 11/17 at 11:49 a.m., weighing in at a healthy 7 pounds, 4.6 ounces and measuring 19 ¾ inches. Eliza is also well.  Attached is a picture of the happy parents with their cute little bundle of love.

Eliza is now on maternity leave (obviously) through February, so we ask that you don’t contact her for any DECA-related matters. Please contact the office with any questions. By December 1, we will have a detailed list for you that identifies who to contact for what, between now and SCDC.

2. COMPETITIVE EVENT ALLOCATIONS CORRECTION
On the Competitive Event Allocations document that I sent last Friday, it indicated that each Area is allocated a minimum of 2 spots per event. Actually, each Area is allocated a minimum of 3 spots per event. This affected one Area (Area 10), and that has been corrected. The corrected document is attached.

3. ADVISOR OF THE YEAR NOMINATION FORM
Each year, an Advisor of the Year is recognized and awarded at SCDC during the opening session. Advisors are nominated by their peers who detail the individual’s leadership, professionalism, and contributions to the greater good of Washington DECA.

Attached is the Advisor of the Year nomination form.

Nominations are due to Lori Hairston by January 23, 2019.

4. AREA CONFERENCE INFORMATION
We are updating the Area Conference information on teachdeca.org | conferences, based on a survey of the Area Leaders. We will continue to update this as we receive details.

If you have questions about dates, times, costs, locations, etc., please contact your Area Leader. Washington DECA isn’t involved in the planning of these conferences, so we won’t have the answers for you.

5. CHAPTER CAMPAIGN SUBMISSION PORTAL IS OPEN
The submission portal for the Community Service, Membership, Promotion, and Global Entrepreneurship Campaigns is now open, and the deadline for submission is December 3. Thrive Academy spots at ICDC can be earned through completion of the membership campaign and/or two of the other three campaigns! Good luck!

7. PROFESSIONAL SELLING EVENT 2018-19 WEBINAR
The professional selling and consulting events webinar has been updated with this year's topics. It can be found in Unit Two of Teach DECA under Professional Selling and Consulting Events.

8. SCDC 20-PAGE WRITTEN EVENT JUDGE REGISTRATION
The 20-page Written Event judge registration site is live. Please refer professional who would like to judge the written events to this site through January 7th: https://judges.decaregistration.com/org/deca-wa

When the written judge registration site closes on January 7, we will open the SCDC judge registration site.
