3. SCDC STUDENT ONSITE SURVEYS (YELLOW)

We would still love to receive those yellow student surveys that were in your SCDC check-in materials. We use the data when applying for grants and sponsorships for student scholarships. Please mail them to us at 16040 Christensen Rd, Suite 215, Tukwila, WA 98188.

4. SCDC BALANCES DUE

Attached is the list of chapters with balances due as of today. Please contact your accounts payable personnel to determine if payment is in process.

- You can access your invoices on the SCDC registration site | View Registration.

ICDC

1. ICDC SUPERVISION RATIO REQUIREMENT

DECA Inc.’s adult to student ratio requirement is 1 adult per 8 students.

2. PARENTS AND HYATT REGENCY ORLANDO

Parents who wish to accompany their student’s chapter to ICDC and stay at the Hyatt under our room block need to be registered as chaperones and must follow the WA DECA and DECA Inc. policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and Dress Code.

- The 1:8 adult:student ratio requirement should not be exceeded by registering parents as chaperones.

- We reserve the right to remove them from housing at the Hyatt if the 1:8 ratio is exceeded and rooms are needed for our delegation.

3. ICDC REGISTRATION

ICDC registration opens tomorrow. I’m waiting to hear back from the Hyatt as to whether they can accommodate the chapters that have indicated they will arrive in Orlando on 4/25 or depart on 5/02. This determines the arrival/departure window I set up in registration.

- Click Here to access the ICDC Registration Guide. This is posted on teachdeca.org | Quick Links | Document Library | International Career Development Conference, along with other documents, forms, and links.

- Please Note: In the registration guide, on page 10 (the competitive event table), PFN is missing from the Principles Event list. Students who qualified in PFN at SCDC will compete in PFN at ICDC. I apologize for the oversight.

5. ICDC DRESS CODE

The DECA Inc. Dress Code has changed. Please prepare your students and give them time to shop for affordable options. Note that the Dress Code Policy applies to students, advisors, and chaperones.

Significant changes include:

- Skirts and dresses must be at or below the knee.

- Collared dress shirts for males and females must be worn with a scarf, ascot, or necktie.

- Click Here to access the Dress Code.

Students who are out of compliance with the Dress Code when arriving to competition will be given an opportunity to change clothes or take penalty points.

Student who are out of compliance with the Dress Code at the awards sessions will not be allowed on stage.

Check out the WA DECA Team Shop for some travel and day-excursion shirts and jackets, as well as business casual options.
