New Advisor Update - August 21, 2018

Welcome Back New Advisors!

We hope you had an awesome summer break and found some time to relax and decompress!

If you are in your 4th or higher year and would rather not receive the new advisor e-blast each week, please just drop me an email and let me know! :)

Below are the highlights for starting off your year effectively:

  • Advisor Conference
  • Program Checklist
  • 1:1 Emails Start This Week
  • Advisor Changes In DECA Inc. Membership Portal
  • Stock Market Game Support

ADVISOR CONFERENCE

This year, Washington DECA has expanded its advisor conference to include not only new advisors, but experienced advisors as well.  We are rolling out all kinds of great new resources for both new and veteran advisors!  Also, please note on the flyer attached that if you are a brand new advisor, there is a webinar scheduled for September 6 that is just for you.  Please make sure you indicate your preferred time of day for the webinar when you register for the conference; we will go with the time the majority requested.

PROGRAM CHECKLIST

Everyone can use a beginning of the year checklist, right?  Well we made one!  This 3-page document will help you remember all of the important things that you need to do to start your year off right!

1:1 EMAILS START THIS WEEK

Chapter Support Center will start its 1:1 emails this week. These emails will go over important documents to view, new resources onTeachDECA.org, and tips for new advisor success!

ADVISOR CHANGES IN DECA INC MEMBERSHIP PORTAL

If you are a new advisor at an existing chapter and need help getting into the membership portal, please email Kim at [email protected]teachdeca.org and I will assist you.  I am catching some changes as I do my emails, but if I miss you or you just want to get in and update your chapter information, send me an email and I will help you gain access!

STOCK MARKET GAME SUPPORT

As a DECA advisor, my student's loved to play the Stock Market Game through DECA!  I am happy to announce that SIFMA has agreed to give Chapter Support access to the curriculum, so look for short and sweet tutorials throughout the next couple of months to assist you in registering and supporting your students playing the game!

Have an awesome year!
