Congratulations to those of you that had students qualify for ICDC! Now the real fun begins...heads up on some major deadlines that need to be met this week:
*March 5 – leadership academy applications are due (Aspire, Elevate, and Ignite)
*March 7 – last day to notify Eliza Webb of any drops in events (Students may compete in one event only!)
*March 7 – notification to chapters of competitive event bubblers (students that advance due to drops)
*March 7 – academy participants announced
*March 8 – ICDC registration opens
CAMPAIGNS AND THE THRIVE ACADEMY
For those of you that earned Thrive Academy spots through completing the chapter campaigns, here is the process for submitting students to attend:
*Students do not need to have participated in SCDC, but they must be registered DECA members
*Students do not need to complete the leadership academy application
*Register students in the portal for the Thrive Academy
DECA IDEAS FOR SPRING
Whether you are off to Orlando or not, it is a good idea to start thinking about next year and choosing a leadership team that will help with guiding your chapter to success. There are tons of resources ready for you to use in Unit One and Unit Two of Teach DECA. Check out 1.5 Leadership Team and 1.6 Program of Leadership and please let me know if you need anything else!
END OF THE YEAR BANQUET OR POTLUCK
End the year with some celebration of everything you have accomplished! Have an End of the Year Banquet or Potluck and showcase your winners, newly elected officers for 19-20, outgoing seniors, etc. Take advantage of the "Plan an Event" forms in Unit One of Teach DECA!
