1. SCDC REGISTRATION OPENS THURSDAY, 1/25

SCDC registration opens at 5:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25. It closes at 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 2.

- Attached is the SCDC Registration Instruction Guide again (sent last Thursday too), along with a PDF of screen shots of the registration process.

- The registration guide contains the links you’ll need to all the documents, forms, Principles/PFL allocations, registration site, etc., as well as deadlines and step-by-step instructions.

- You can also access documents and forms on the SCDC web page at http://teachdeca.org/wa-deca-scdc.

2. HYATT HOTEL CREDIT CARD CHARGES

The Hyatt has run into issues with school and/or district credit cards not being valid or “open” when they’ve attempted to run them, which is an understandable frustration.

- The Hyatt will run credit cards on Thursday, March 1, using the credit card information provided in the Hotel Credit Card Authorization Forms that are due to me by February 2.

- They will notify me of schools whose card(s) are declined, and I will get in touch with the advisors ASAP.

- The advisor will need to contact someone at their school or district on Friday to correct the situation.

- If the Hyatt can’t successfully charge a card (or cards) for your stay, they will direct bill Washington DECA, which we strongly prefer to avoid.

- If there will be a problem charging your school and/or district credit card(s) on March 1, please select a different hotel.

3. SCDC SENIOR MANAGEMENT ACADEMY (SMA) SPOTS AVAILABLE

We have some Senior Management Academy spots available, so we’re extending the application deadline through 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 26.

4. WRITTEN PROJECT RESULTS ARE IN

Team Eliza and Linda (plus more than 100 Written judges) finished strong with 30-page written judging!

- All the 30-page written results have been provided to the applicable advisors.

- Judge comments are available by accessing the written submission website and logging in with your membership credentials.

- If your students’ written projects qualified, be sure to register them in the SCDC system after it opens tomorrow.

- The full scoresheets will be made available on the written submission website March 3, following SCDC Awards.

5. ALUMNI EVENT THURSDAY

No plans Thursday night? Join us at Surf Incubator for a 21-and-over Alumni Event! Can’t come? Let your alumni know about it—they can report back how much fun it was. See the invitation attached.

P.S. Eastern Washington, we’re coming for you! Stay tuned.
